Happy Birthday

I have the greatest friends on earth. I don't know why I have been so blessed in my life to meet and share the journey with the friends that surround me. I feel blessed on a daily basis because of them. Every single birthday I become overwhelmed when so many of them reach out in one way or another to send their love to me. It touches me in a way I have no words for. So thank you!! I love you!! This journey would be empty without you. Right now my birth family is wondering what the heck? Don't worry. I love you also. I feel blessed by you as well ~ your however stuck with me. LOL Thank you all for another amazing birthday.

Gopher Football

This weekend was the grand opening of the new Gopher Stadium. That is the football team for the University of Minnesota. Season ticket holders (such as us) were invited to a special scrimmage being held so that you could sit in your new seats and check out the new stadium. Now, you might be scratching your head and wondering ~ why would Tom and Jami have season tickets to U of M football? Neither of them went there or have a child who did and they don't live in MN. Trust me, I'm still working on the answer. Here is the other crazy part of the story. The other two couples who have seats with us, didn't go there or have children who went there. However, they do live there. I just know a while back we were out having a few after a Vikings game and the guys started talking. Next thing, we are all season ticket holders ~ go figure. I'm not sure if it is the tailgating, beer, cheerleaders, beer, grilling, beer, the social craziness, beer or the game and more beer but the men love it. They all turn into 17 year old guys. It seems to be the place that levels the age of all men. Their little piece of paradise on black top. They run around throwing footballs and bean bags, shouting to one another and neighboring tailgaters while their music is blasting. The antics are too numerous to mention and must be witnessed to believe. All around America this is going on. You see it in the parking lots of all college and pro football games. It is the Peter Pan syndrome come to life. I for one embrace it as a breath of fresh air. I think we all need to embrace it and learn from it. Most men understand on a level deep in their soul (and they don't even know it) how important it is to never truly give up the playful child inside. So, no ~ I'm still not sure what the answer is as to why we hold season tickets to a college team in another state that neither of us have any link to but I would bet it has something to do with Peter Pan. (:

Need I say more?????

Purple nation is extremely happy. Tom and our friends the Wallin's think I'm a genius for buying tickets in May for the October 5th game against the Packer's in the Metrodome aka Humpty Dumpty. All I can say is Warren W. you were right!!! You and several other's who kept saying when the Packer's let him go that he would be playing in purple this year. For people like me, who aren't fans but support our partner's choice ~ it just made the Viking season worth watching!!!!!

August Post

I'm working on getting back into the hang of posting. I know my children (and certain other's) read this blog so it is hard for me to write. I could spend a whole blog on the shopping craze I have been on for about 6 months. However, they don't want to know about the sexy panties and bra's I've been buying or the tips on where to find them. In fact, I'm sure sexy connected to me puts vomit in their mouths. What is that?!? They have no problem with their father being human but hell no when it comes to mom. If they only knew!! I know ~ they couldn't take the truth.

My friend Susan is a Facebook addict. Her son calls her the stocker ~ LOL. How she finds the time in one day to do all things she does is beyond me. Susan is my number one go to girl. If I need something she can find it and at a bargain. If she doesn't know about something, she will study until she is almost an expert. I love her for that. Susan would like to see me on Facebook. I get on Aprils Facebook so I can read Susan's. Of course, Suz (I call her) is on Facebook daily and posts the minute she has something to say. I can't imagine! The problem for me with Facebook is simple ~ I won't be able to keep up!!! I don't have time for all my past classmates and friends to catch up. I can hardly stay a float with the ones I have now.

This weekend was the big PRESEASON football weekend. Friday night we had the man cave open. The bar was stocked, keg tapped and high def big screens on. My 4 pound girls had on their jerseys (SF & MN) and the football flag was blowing in the wind. We were ready for some football. The usual suspects showed up and brought some newbies with them. I know you can see the lights from the man cave when your on the 18th hole of the golf course so if our lights are shinning we tend to get the after party from the golf course. Which means everyone is already locked and loaded wanting to continue on with the party. A few of the guys had a get out of jail free card so they were in high energy. Here is where I will refrain from saying too much but let me just say that a new sub-group was born this night. We call them Children of the Porn. I wish I had taken photo's that night but I didn't. I could have blackmailed a few people! I think the best moment of the night was when my semi shy husband decided to shut down all the tv's and do a solo act with his guitar hero. I think alcohol could have been playing a role in it. As Tom rocked out in front of the crowd, he started to lose the beat and then there was no finding his way back and he was booed off the stage. I thought big Joe was going to wet himself laughing. You had to be there and witness it to find it as funny as we did. Well, I'm happy to report that my team managed to beat the Bronco's by one point. I know it is ONLY preseason but I enjoy any win since they don't come around that often anymore. The Vikings won also so that made the majority happy. We closed the cave at 2:00 a.m. and the clean up crew got started. Great start for the new season!

I will part with this photo taken on our cookout in Yellowstone. What is priceless about this photo is Tom's cowboy hat. He doesn't do hats but he loves to get into theme stuff (like April) so I can only imagine that is why he bought it. I didn't have the heart to tell him he looked like a farmer and not a cowboy. YIPPEE YO KAYAY!!!
