Bark in the Park

The Sioux Falls Humane Society www.sfhumanesociety.com has a fund raising event yearly they have named Bark in the Park. You can do the 5k run or the mile walk with your dog. It is a very fun event and raises money for a great cause. This year we just took Mia. After almost losing Sidney to pancreatitis a few months ago, I don't put her under any stressful situations. Mia enjoyed the walk and Grandpa showed up with his dog and walked with us. It starts at the dog park which is located just off a section of the bike trial that surrounds the city. The dog park was newly renovated last year and is extremely nice. We don't use the dog park. Our little 4 pound girls just seem to attract dogs that want to hump them so we stay away but my grand-dog loves any dog park and I enjoy watching her at the dog park. Actually, Izzy is fun to watch when she is set free in a large grassy area. She runs as fast as she can and then skids in a circle and comes back the other way. She loves to come to stay with me in SD because she has a large area to run and play. I guess this is good since she will be coming to live with me soon. I can't imagine who is going to have a harder time ~ April or Izzy.

I love this (rare) photo with Tom and Mia and the Mascot for Bark in Park. As much as Tom loves the girls, he feels a little less manly when we are in a crowd and he is walking/holding one of them. I was a little amazed that he allowed me to take this photo ~ but then I took it with my cell phone and he had no clue how to do that!!! LOL

The Wedding

My parents had four children. They had expected at least eight grandchildren and what they got was five. Tracy is the first grandchild. None of us would have ever guessed that it would be 34 years before the first grandchild married. As you can imagine the family was all a buzz about the first wedding. I'm blessed to have a real good relationship with my two nephews and one niece. Tracy lived with Tom and I for a few months when he did a clerkship in Sioux Falls while finishing up medical school. He is the oldest child of my older sister Kristie. Her two children are VERY close to my children even though they grew up states apart. They take vacations together and visit each other often. Tracy is currently in Philly finishing his residency at Mercy Hospital. Sarah is the pretty nurse he met while going through med-school at the University Utah. She took her first job in Philly and moved with him. To say they are a cute couple is an understatement. We love Sarah. She is the perfect addition to our family. The minute they got engaged they set their sights on a honeymoon baby. A few months prior to the wedding they stopped birth control so they would be ready. As luck would have it ~ we got two for one when Tracy married Sarah. Little Tray will be born in November. More family happiness and joy!!!!!!!!!!!

Tracy & Sarah ~
Sarah's sister Jen and Tracy's friend (Robin) Chris. The little one's are Sarah's niece and nephew.

April and Russell ~
April is in love and is going to London for a year ~ doesn't that just figure?!
They are joined at the hip these days. Russell is a lot of fun.

No need to explain this happy couple ( :
