Getting comfortable
I have a major case of writer's block! I promised my wonderful daughter that I would post at least once a month and here it is the end of the month and I'm scrambling to write. You see, I found out recently there are people who actually read my blog. Now, I could resort to writing what comes easy for me ~ the people in my life. But I made a commitment to write about me
and just include them. I also made a commitment to start being comfortable with being uncomfortable. A quality Phoenix Youth At Risk teaches their youth and appears to be harder to do as we age. However, in the last year I have stood in the middle of being uncomfortable. At times, I have done it while crying, puking and shaking but I did it. What I found out was this, walking through the process is as empowering if not more, then getting to the comfortable. I don't believe we were meant to live a life of total comfort and happiness or we aren't challenging ourselves and there is no growth. On a basic level I believe we think we should always be comfortable so when life becomes difficult or painful we tell ourselves that something is wrong. Yet it is this pain and difficulty that can give us the opportunity to be movtivated to look inside ourselves and find the answer. This is where transformation takes place. If you're looking for your New Years resolution I suggest you look at what makes you uncomfortable, what scares you silly, what your fears are telling you and then decide that this year you're going to set yourself free. Walk through the fear and stand in the uncomfortable. Become empowered, grow and challenge yourself.
