Cardinals, Dbacks and the Packers!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another wonderful year and another wonderful birthday celebration. For my birthday we arrived in AZ to watch the Cardinals play the Bronco's and the Dbacks play the Dodgers. We also did house shopping. We looked at 16 houses a day (that doesn't include the ones we drove up to and drove off) and as of this post have not bought yet ~ although we have a couple in mind. We ate at our favorite places and did some shopping at Scottsdale Mall. It was a short sweet visit. We arrived home and two days later we were off to Green Bay to watch the Vikings play the Packers on Monday night football!!
It was suppose to be the night that Farve's jersey was retired. Two things you should know about Packer fans 1) Favre is their guy no matter what. 2) They are respectful and actually enjoy the visiting team fans. Not a unkind word once. It has been a wild sports ride and I have loved every single minute. The trip to Lambeau Field was a bus package deal. Our friends
Warren and Jeanne also came. Warren is a huge Packers fan. They have two adult boys who are Vikings fan. Jeanne plays the middle. On the trip we met and became quick friends with John and Lonnie. Both are Packers fans and have taken the bus trip to Lambeau & the Metro Dome to watch the Packers play more then once. Since as a child I was Packers fan it left Tom to be the only true Vikings fan in the group.
Our first night on the road we stayed in a hotel
about 3 hours from Green Bay. We went out
that night. The photo is me, Jeanne and Lonnie.

John, Warren and Tom.

We arrived in Green Bay at 11:30 the next day
and immediately went to the Hall of Fame which
is located inside the stadium. It is awesome. We
saw a lot of Brett Favre but John said much of his
stuff has been removed. I'm sure it will be back
when he retires. There is so much to see if your
a football lover! You could easy spend an hour or
two. The most memorable moment for me was
when I arrived in the last room and there sat the
3 Lombardi trophies. Two won by my hero
Bart Starr and one by Favre.

The Packer fans still love their Favre. Everywhere
I looked I saw his old jersey, his new jersey and his
Pro Bowl jersey. Only the young 20 somethings are
wearing Erin Rogers.

Part of our package included the tailgate party at
Brett Favre's Steak House. I managed to chat
with a lot of cheese heads who are fun and
BIG!

Warren and Tom and the beer tent!

Note to myself ~ after tailgating, don't allow Tom
to be in charge of anything ....... like holding the
towel for the photo!!

The fly over always gives me duckie bumps!

Not an empty seat and ESPN was in the house.

Shifting gears! This is the Dbacks vs. Dodgers in
Chase Stadium. Tom, Kevin and Crystal. Manny
killed us that day ~ urgh!

Close up of the love birds.

The Cardinals vs. the Broncos.

Just a happy camper to be at the game!

In the end all of the teams we cheered for lost but I wouldn't have missed any of them!
