The Big Fifty
The best thing about aging is that (for me) sometime around my late thirties I started to get it. Meaning, I began to relax. I realized that having control is truly an illusion and frustrating. Now don’t get me wrong. I still have moments where I fight for control but for the most part I have learned to let go.
When contemplating the “Big Day” and how it should be celebrated, I started with a grand idea. However, for reasons beyond my control; plan A was not to be and neither was plan B or C. When I was younger (ouch) this would have really thrown me but not now, I simply let things go. Then life delivers its plan which, is typically exactly what I needed in the first place.
I am blessed to have more then a handful of wonderful friends. Two of those wonderful friends are Lynn from Detroit and Susan from Houston. They would not think of me turning fifty without something a little special. With Tom's blessing it was off to Vegas baby.
You all know that what happens in Vegas …so in order not to break the rule I will give 3 truths and one lie. During our time in sin city one of us became shall we say uninhibited and a bit of a striptease act, one of us felt the thunder from way down under and enjoyed the winnings of an orgasm contest, one of us spent a very sexy night with the "King" (yes Elvis still lives) and more then one of us received a very hmmm .... interesting gift from a very generous man.
